All-on-4 Offers the Benefits of Implants in a Shorter Timeline

Minimal Preparation

Even if you have low bone density, oral surgeons Kevin S. McLaughlin and Michael F. Trofa can usually place implants using the All-on-4 technique without first performing bone grafting. This can shorten your overall treatment timeline at our Norwalk, CT, practice by several months.

Fewer Implants

While traditional implant-supported dentures usually need to be supported by six to eight dental implant posts, the All-on-4 technique only requires four implants. The posterior implants are strategically placed at a 45-degree angle to give your denture a strong, stable foundation

Fast Results

In most cases, we can send patients home with a natural-looking temporary restoration on the same day as their surgical procedure. This means that you never have to go without teeth or struggle with the slipping and clicking of a removable denture.

Here's what typically happens during your oral surgery...

A Technologically Advanced Solution

cone beam scan

Advanced technology is used in every step of treatment. Detailed 3-D images of your teeth, jaws, and surrounding tissues are captured using a cone beam computed tomography (CT) scanner. This information is used to create a guide that will indicate the best possible positions for your implants, ensuring an effective and long-lasting rehabilitation. The implants themselves are carefully engineered to provide outstanding stability even when a patient has suffered some degree jaw atrophy.

The Treatment Timeline

Consultation

Your dentist will assess your jaw, review your medical history, and take 3-D scans to determine if this solution is right for you.

Placement Surgery

During this minor surgical procedure, your doctor will remove any remaining teeth before anchoring four implants into the jawbone.

Temporary Restoration

You will receive a temporary denture once your implants are in place, restoring the function and appearance of your smile.

Osseointegration

Osseointegration is a process of the implants becoming permanently fused to the jaw. It takes about four to six months.

Permanent Denture

Once your dentist confirms that osseointegration is complete, you can receive your custom permanent denture.
